Rick and I thought today would be a good day to take our bikes out and clear out the caches along the Sweetwater River, west of the Plaza Bonita shopping center.
Our first cache of the day reminded me that not all caches are at ground level.
A lot of the caches along this route are of the “needle in a haystack” variety. Instead of a haystack, though, you get a whole bunch of rocks.
Here’s what a whole bunch of rocks look like, with a cache container in the lower right corner.
Here’s a close-up of the container. Ain’t he cute?
And yes, even though he’s only a couple of inches tall, there is a cache log inside of him that we had to sign.
Five hours after we began, we’d traveled eight miles and found 22 caches. Sounds like a good day to me.
